How we can help

Fire Ready Victoria Meetings - a great way to get started

Do you live, work or play in a high risk bushfire area? Attend a local Fire Ready Victoria meeting to learn how you and your family can prepare for bushfires.

What to expect

By attending this FREE one hour information session you will learn about:

  • Bushfire risk in your local area
  • Fire Danger Ratings (FDR) and Warnings - what they mean and when to act
  • Personal safety and how you can survive a bushfire
  • Developing a Bushfire Survival Plan
  • Programs and resources available to help you
  • You'll also be able to ask questions about your own situation, such as:
    • How will I know when to leave?
    • Where should I go?
    • How will I get there?

The cancellation or postponement of scheduled Fire Ready meetings will occur if a Total fire Ban is declared within your district.  Meetings will be postponed so that residents can activate their bushfire survival plans and leave early.
